Jigga

“jigga Jigga what” was the quote I woke up with this morning. It made me smile and chuckle to myself. McLovin is pretty awesome! Just wanted to share how my day started out. J

I saw Underworld last night with a friend. I can’t say anything besides loved it! Great plot and looks like there will be another in the foreseeable future.

I finally sat down and went through my mail and finances. I paid off one bill completely. It felt wonderful. I plan to be debt free in roughly 8 months! I made a plan and I’m sticking to it.  I’m going to open 3 savings accounts. There’s not going to be a lot going to them all but with time it will grow. I’m feeling extremely at peace with myself for getting these hurtles out of my way. It was truly a deep fresh breathe in a long time.

So I’m googling “how to write a romance novel”.  Some interesting tips like do you want to sell your book online or through a publisher; get a literary agent ( which I think I found one surprisingly in a coworker); think of characters and ages; setting; events; believable dialogue; start writing book; end well; proper grammar, spelling and punctuation; and have friends read it.  I think that’s very sound advice. I also looked up some networking programs for writing and plan to go to a meet up in February.

I need to buckle down and start brain storming on the things I don’t know about the book. Anyone have any suggestions?

xoxo

As promised 1st chapter. let me know what you think.

Prologue

Well, what does an independent 21st century woman do when she finds herself in a place unknown?

Does she freak out? No. Does she cry? No. No.  She re-evaluates how exactly she came to be here.

As she looks around what she can only assume is some kind of flea market.

But where am I? How did I get here? I remember getting ready to board the plane. I just handed my ticket over to the rude flight attendant. I continued walking and tried to put my passport in my backpack at the same time. One second I’m falling face down onto the boarding dock and now I’m here. What else do I expect when I don’t pay attention to my surroundings and am prone to tripping over my own feet? Not sure where here is exactly, but it is definitely not the airport. Is that a bonnet that lady is wearing? Am I dreaming? What is that smell? Did I step in dog poop?

As she asks herself all these questions people around her just stare. Sure some point and stare. But mostly everyone was just staring. It was as if she miraculously appeared. And what did she expect she’s the one who’s dressed oddly. It was like she was half naked. She was in fact wearing a bright yellow tank top, and black skinny jeans. The items that had everyone’s attention though were here bare toes.  Well that and the fact that they were painted deep red.

Chapter 1

Cassie Williams couldn’t believe her eyes.  She tried rubbing them incase it was some kind of hazy film on her contacts. It had to be, it really just had to be. Do I still have contact solution in my pack?

Everywhere around her were faces she didn’t recognize. Where was everyone from the flight? Why are all the women wearing long dresses and bonnets? How the hell do I even know what bonnets look like?

“Where the hell am I?” she muttered under her breath.

A woman next to her in a dark blue dress gasped.

“Oh, did I say that out loud”

“Y- Yes mam” was the stuttered reply.

Cassie closed her eyes, taking a deep breathe. What a fresh breathe that was. She ended up coughing the smell was so bad.

“Holy crap!” she said gasping.

“This is just great” she grumbled while digging in her black recycled material backpack for her a tissue.

And then it hit her.

She finally figured out why everyone was dressed old fashionably. Somehow she skipped days but she ended up at her destination. Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Oh, wow what a relief. She had been getting on a plane to meet her mom in New Jersey before she ended up here. They were going on vacation to Lancaster County to visit Amish country.

Finally she was thinking straight.

Cassie was so relieved she knew where she was.

She took out her cell phone to call her mom to figure out where she was. No signal.

She lifts it higher to try to get a signal. You know how it happens sometimes, your turn it a certain way and magically you get bars.

Nothing.

She lifts it higher.

Nada

“Well of course they don’t have service here; we’re in the middle of nowhere” she muttered disgusted.

She turned to the side to try and get a signal again.

Nothing.

Cassie couldn’t understand this. How does she end up in Lancaster County without remembering it?

Well, there was no point in driving yourself crazy dwelling on it. She had to find her mother.

She kept her phone in her hand just incase she got service and started walking down the street. She took in what the others around her were wearing. Most of the women were wearing bonnets, long dresses, and boots. Some dresses looked newer than others. And not one of these women smiled back at Cassie as she smiled at them.

Now men on the other hand couldn’t stop smiling and staring. It was very weird and unexpected.

Cassie had thought the men from Lancaster County were more civilized and reserved.

Something was wrong here.

Even as that thought went through her head she saw three rough looking guys coming across the street towards her. Two big men and a skinny, short one, but he looked the leader. She didn’t like the look of them. All three had mean eyes and nasty smirks.

She started to walk away and they cross the street towards here.

She sped up.

She was looking over her shoulder when she collided into an unmoving wall. She bounced off and would have fallen backwards if strong hands didn’t close around her arms. She stood there frozen staring into the sexiest mouth on a man shed ever seen.

She had been standing there unable to look away until she realized that whoever was holding her was actually talking to her. Those lips were forming words and Cassie couldn’t look away from them.

She probably had her tongue hanging out because finally the man stopped talking and actually looked at her. And when he did look at her Cassie was able to take in the rest of his features.

Straight patrician nose, high cheekbones and the most beautiful eyes she’s ever seen. His eyes were wide with shock.

Ugh, what was it with these men. It’s like they’ve never seen a woman before.

Nathaniel Aaron Caldwell, Viscount Moore brooded hurrying down the street. He just couldn’t understand how his brother continued to hauntingly surprise him from his grave. After 2 years of being dead, Christian still tormented him.  He just kept creating ways to annoy him.

First, that estate that Christian left neglected. It had just been sitting there with a skeleton staff for 3 years. Why couldn’t Christian have told him there was an estate?

I would’ve helped him.

Maybe. If I could have found the time while decoding missives for the Government.

Second, he had left a string of mistress’ who say they haven’t been paid for their time with Christian. Of course, most wanted to continue their liaison with me, but who had time for them.

Who was left to pay off everyone? Me.

Nate crushed the letter he still held in his coat pocket. He was an uncle.

An Uncle.

To a child he hadn’t known existed. An uncle! He didn’t have room in his life for a baby. How could he take care of a child? The letter didn’t say if it was a boy or a girl. He had to hire a governess. What are the requirements for a governess? This was getting more complicated by the second.

He couldn’t even remember the last time he saw a child.  It might’ve been that time he went for that walk in the park weeks ago during the day.

He needed to get home to start making plans. He also needed to get home to brief his assistant on that new code from yesterday. He had finally analyzed that last paragraph at his club.  It had been more complicated than most codes but that had been a perfect challenge. He’d been feeling less challenged lately. Well he definitely has a challenge now!

Ooffff.

Something smashed right into him and bounced off. He grabbed on before the little thief ran away richer.

“Thought you could make extra today, huh?” he asked the little thief. “Well I’m a tougher catch than I look”

Nate finally looked into the face of his thief and realized that no thief has ever looked like this. Clean for one thing, and definitely too old, not that she wasn’t beautiful. She had short reddish hair that shaped her oval face. Her wide, brown eyes with flecks of gold and green had this mischievous gleam to them as if she found humor in everything. Her kissable mouth with the bottom lip just slightly bigger than her top seemed to glisten.  Her luscious body was pressed up against him and he knew she was all womanly in all the right places. He could actually see the top of her breasts in her camisole.

A yellow camisole? And black tight breeches.

Is she crazy being out here in that that costume? Probably an actress from the theater around the corner.

She finally spoke and what she said confirmed that she was definitely crazy.

“Oh, there you are babe! I’ve been waiting for ever for you to get here.” She looked behind her and stepped out of his arms.

Nate was baffled, so he said the only thing that he could think of.

“Huh.”

“Oh, you know we were supposed to meet like ten minutes ago, you rascal.” She said.

She started to tug on his arm and like an idiot he followed in the opposite direction of where he had been previously heading.

She moved faster and faster. Every second or so she looked behind her.

Nate also looked behind and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

She kept pulling and finally they were around the corner. She stopped behind a cart on the side of the wall and flattened herself against it and pulled him right next to her. She put her arm out across his chest to keep him from moving.

“What are we doing?” Nate asked idiotically.

“shh” was her response.

Nate tried to see around her, to see what kept her so immovable. She pushed him back and shushed him again.

Nate couldn’t remember when someone had treated him thusly. He was honestly in-awe if not curious.

Finally, he could see over the top of the cart that three men came around the corner. He felt her stiffen through her arm but that was the only outward response to these men. If anything it looked like she was bracing herself for battle. The men kept hurrying down the street right past them not even looking in their direction luckily. The woman next to him waited a minute after the men turned the next corner. She stepped away from him and the cart and finally looked him in the face.

“Thanks, that was a close call. I didn’t think you guys had thieves here.” She said while sticking her hand up in the air. He could see something shiny.

“Ugh, still no service! Do you have a phone I could use?” she asked and looking him in the eyes.

Nate just stared because one he had no idea what she was talking and second she was truly beautiful when she focused her full attention on you.

“Do you have a phone I could use” she repeated to him as if he was a child.

Nate replied, “NO.”

“Can you tell me where the closest hotel is? I need to find my mom and I don’t think I would’ve wandered far from the hotel without her.”

“Hotel?” Nate asked foolishly.

“Yes, a hotel, bed and breakfast or an inn possibly?”

“Sure, there’s an inn a little down further down that street.”

“Perfect, can you point me in the right direction and I’ll be off.”

“I can walk you there since it’s on my way home” Nate said still a little awestruck by this strange woman. He still didn’t know who she was.

“Are you sure? I don’t want to be too much trouble?”

“No bother at all Mrs.?” Nate asked rather smoothly he thought.

“Cassie Williams, no Mrs.” she held out her hand.

“It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ms. Williams.” Nate took her hand and kissed her bare knuckles. He rather liked that about this woman. She had smooth hands. It got him thinking about how smooth the rest of her body was. Maybe, he’d ask her after he escorted her to the inn if she’d have dinner with him. And hopefully let him have her after dinner.

Nate looked her over again. Beautiful skin, nice assets, and womanly in all the right places he liked.  His eyes kept traveling down her body past her yellow camisole, her flat stomach, to her round thighs and down to her feet.

Her bare feet!

Her sexy bare feet.

She had red paint on her toes, but with a closer look he realized she was wearing some kind of sandal.

“What’s your name?” she asked.

“Nathaniel Caldwell at your service.” Nate answered unthinkingly giving only his name and not his title.

“Is the inn far from here?” Cassie asked looking around him for an inn.

Nate held out his arm, which Cassie ignored and starting walking the way he was facing. He really didn’t know what to think about this woman. Was she an actress, courtesan, or just plain crazy? Did she escape Bedlam? Nate didn’t really care, as long as he was still around her.

They came across the inn rather hasty. He had tried to drag his feet but Cassie was on a mission.

“Well, here we are, The Long Horn. I can go in with you to make sure everything is okay.” Nate suggested even while Cassie was shaking her head.

“It’s alright; I don’t want to hold you up anymore. Thank you, you’ve been a great help Mr. Caldwell.” Cassie held out her hand.

Nate shook her hand and kissed her bare knuckles again. Why didn’t not wear gloves more often? It’s a new trend that should be started. It could be an aphrodisiac for men. He must be the crazy one.

“Thanks again, see you around.” Cassie turned her back on him and headed up the stairs to The Long Horn.

Nate stood there and just watched her. He really should have followed her in and made sure she found what she was looking for. If not, then get her into his bed. He really was loosing his mind. What with his brother child, the new code and a lady from Bedlam.

He had just turned to keep walking when he heard a big commotion in the inn. A man came running out. Nate went running in to see that Cassie was on floor passed out.

“What happened to her?” he demanded of the people surrounding her. He gathered up her body and started checking for any damage.

“She fainted”, replied a surly man. “She ‘as ranting about how ‘his couldn’t be happening to her and ‘ow she ‘as sleeping, then she fainted. Her eyes rolled back into her head.”

the weekend

Todays Friday the 13th and everyone keeps complaining about it. I think it’s just another day and if you choose for it to be a bad day it will be. I saw my friend’s son who’s only 3 months and he’s just a big boy already. LOVE HIM!!

To me it’s been a great day so far! Got a great night’s sleep and had fresh juice this morning. Work is good and got a nice check to deposit for next week!!  My Friday night is packed with friends and movie.

I was talking to a friend earlier and he asked what I was doing tonight. I said nothing yet. He then asked what about another friend of ours. I said well she’ll probably be with her boyfriend or she’s closing tonight. And he said sorry. But I don’t understand why when I’m perfectly content to stay home alone and do nothing.  He’s the friend I plan to go see the new Marky Mark movie with (Contraband).

This by the way was amazing!  I loved it.

Saturday morning I went to see We Bought a Zoo!! Adorable movie and some life lessons. J

Saturday afternoon I help decorate for a party later that evening for my best friend’s hubby. He graduated from the police academy.  Setting up was fun, got stuck in the back seat of the car with 24 balloons.  Loads of fun! I got asked by the bartender if I was of age? Oh yeah! A great beginning.

The food was great, the company that I hung around was good and watching my two friends I felt a little envious. She wrote him a letter everyday he was in the academy and gave it to him yesterday. It was so sweet and such a sentiment gift that I cried a little. Love those two together!!

I never understand why some people are so ungrateful and selfish. That was the only downer of that party but it’s not worth mentioning because its negative and just annoying.

Sunday I did nothing but lounge and watch movies. I did brave the cold to go to ShopRite for some veggies that I’m actually drinking right now. I started my juice fast yesterday.. I’m not going to lie I think I need to do juices and a small healthy meal a day. Maybe not, I’ll see how I feel.  I had a really good night’s sleep. And I think I’ll finally put my story in tonight. Yes, there will be typos but read it and let me.

New Begining

Hello ALL!! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read my first official blog!! J

I’m new to this so let me introduce myself a little. A coworker started to call me ZeeZee and I loved it.  I’ll be 27 this year, and it’s going to be a great year, with a lot of happy changes. I work in for a third party billing company specializing in MRI’s/ X-ray’s.  I do the posting but also collections. It’s easy to me and I’m happy there.

I became a vegetarian a year ago! Yes, a year!  It has been a challenge.  Even some days still I think about getting a taylor ham, egg, and cheese, but then I think about how’d I feel if I ate it. When I first started out that first week was intense and I was a miserable being, but that’s to be expected since your body is detoxing.  Now I’m just happy. Don’t get me wrong there are days when I get down and cranky but I choose to live my life in kind!

Now, this past weekend I watched a documentary that inspired me. I won’t go into detail because people will probably disagree with me but I don’t care. I’m going to do something because I like it. I plan to do a 10 day juice fast starting Sunday. I’m ready to be a miserable detoxing being again for a few days. This really will pay off because it lets your body recharge. Everyone needs that because we really don’t take great care of our bodies with all the crap we put into them. I’m not telling you to do a juice fast because I’m doing one. I’m just saying be more conscious of what you feed your body.

I don’t want this to be a blog about being negative towards anyone or anything. I don’t intent to bitch about others I just want to express myself and start my writing.  I have given myself a 6 week time frame to train myself to write consistently. It’ll take hard work and determination but the end result will be rewarding!!   I just know it will.

I have started writing a romance novel but haven’t really gotten that far thanks to my losing interest easily but that’s going to change.  I’ll start off with doing a page every other day or so. I’m hoping it’ll get easier as the days go by.   The story could actually be a trilogy if I put enough time, effort, and creativity into it.  Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though.  One step at a time, I think.

Appreciations for Thursday 1/12/12:

Peaceful sleep, good music to work to, hot chocolate on a rainy day, warm clothes, new rain boots, kindle time, Burt’s Bees peppermint chapstick, quality time with sister, little piggy banks.
